Dear Debbie,
in one month it is my birthday. My wish-list?
I´d wish to have people around me
who don´t say I am crazy because I like the Americans,
who don´t call me inhumane because I am glad that mass-murder in Iraq has been
stopped and that Saddam Hussein is no longer a threat to Israel,
who don´t call me arrogant because I like living in the West.
On my birthday I´d like to have people around me I can eat and drink with and
talk to naturally without having to avoid certain subjects that might cause a
fuss.
That is my wish-list.
But this year, I`m afraid, I will have to give
an online-party.

Liebe Debbie,
in einem Monat habe ich Geburtstag. Was ich
mir wünsche?
Ich wünsche mir an diesem Tag Menschen um mich herum,
die mich nicht für verrückt erklären, weil ich die Amerikaner mag,
die mich nicht als unmenschlich bezeichnen, weil ich mich freue, dass der
Massenmord im Irak gestoppt und Saddam Hussein keine Bedrohung für Israel mehr
ist,
die mich nicht als arrogant bezeichnen, weil ich gerne im Westen lebe.
An meinem Geburtstag wünsche ich mir Menschen um mich herum, mit denen ich essen
und trinken und ungezwungen reden kann, ohne bestimmte Themen krampfhaft
ausklammern zu müssen, weil es sonst zum Eklat kommen könnte.
Ja, das wünsche ich mir.
Aber dieses Jahr werde ich meine Party wohl im
Internet feiern müssen.
