1. Personal reasons:
All the Americans I have met so far have been extremely nice, kind, welcoming, ready to help and when I spent a few weeks with an American guest family 20 years ago, hospitality has been overwhelming.
2. Historical reasons:
The Americans have liberated Germany from the Nazis, then helped reconstructing Germany and finally made German reunification possible. How could I possibly not like the Americans?
3. Pragmatic reasons:
The biggest threat we are facing at the moment is Islamist terrorism. To win this fight we have to stand together. United we stand, divided we fall. It is as simple as that.
4. Selfish reasons:
Anti-Americanism is a disease affecting society as a whole. I do not want to live in a sick society. Blaming somebody else for all the bad in the world, maybe makes some feel better for a short moment, but it will not solve any of the current problems. It will only make them worse.
