Germany is a democracy with a free Press. So why does the Press remain (almost) silent when it comes to reporting what is going on in Germany these days?
Don`t get me wrong I am not saying that the media does not report at all, but given the events you would expect much much wider media coverage.
The expert for Islamism of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Herbert L. Müller, says e. g. that we are seeing the worst anti-Semitic marches since the Third Reich.
“Aus meiner Sicht handelt es sich bei etlichen dieser Demonstrationen, wie wir sie in den letzten Tagen und Wochen hatten, um antijüdische Aufmärsche, wie wir sie seit Jahrzehnten, letztendlich seit dem Gedenken an das Dritte Reich nicht mehr hatten.”

And sadly, he is not overstating for effect!
But the only newspaper I have seen who ran an article on it`s front page was BILD-Zeitung. Last week they reported on the “Police scandal about Israel flag” (“Polizei-Skandal um Israel-Flagge”, Jan 14, 2009) in Duisburg. You can`t miss it, the article is placed right under playmate Lisa`s big … blue eyes.
But this is far from being the only scandal. These days in Germany people who are waving the Israeli flag are being threatened and beaten by Islamist “demonstrators”. In Duisburg, last Saturday (one week after the first demonstration during which the police broke into a flat to remove the Israeli flag), demonstrators who were showing the Israeli flag were threatened by Islamists and had to be protected by the police. One of the Islamists shouted:
„Wo ist der Hitler, wo ist der Hitler. Da drüben, das finde ich nicht in Ordnung, wo ist der Hitler, wo ist er? Der hätte die ganz fertig gemacht, die Arschlöcher, glaub mir mal.“
“Where is Hitler, where is Hitler? Over there, that is not OK, where is Hitler, where is he? He would have finished them off, these assholes, believe me!”
