Beck ist weg - Beck steps back

This week Kurt Beck resigned as SPD head and as the party`s potential candidate for chancellor. On the one hand that is good news indeed because Kurt Beck backed a red-red-green coalition in Hesse. On the other hand that is bad news because he would have been no competition for Angela Merkel at all. With Steinmeier who now is going to be the SPD chancellor candidate this is going to be far more complicated. Especially given the fact that he is her Foreign Minister. I really wonder how this is going to work out during the next year.
