Hesse, the German state I live in, might soon be governed by a red-green minority government tolerated by the Left:
Germany’s Social Democrats said on Tuesday they will try to form a minority government in the western state of Hesse with the help of the Left Party, completing a controversial U-turn. The SPD had insisted it would not cooperate with members of the far left and former communists.
Andrea Ypsilanti, leader of the regional branch of the SPD in Hesse, said she would hold coalition talks with the Green Party with the aim of forming a SPD-Green coalition government for the state. (…)
