I know that we all get a lot of spam, but what is weird about the ones I get is that it is all about Viagra, penis enlargement and loosing weight. But I assure you I am quite happy with my 58 kilos and 1,68 metres height. And penis enlargement? If at all, they could mail me about breast enlargement, not, that I would ever do it … I like how SHAKIRA puts it in her song “Whenever, Wherever”:
… Lucky that my breasts are small and humble
So you don’t confuse them with mountains …
Although I must admit that when my (soon ex-) mother-in-law who is from Bavaria told me a recipe: “one white beer each day” I tried it. But could not observe any significant changes … the white beer was delicious, though ;-)
Back to serious. I do not mind the spam. What I do mind though are the anti-American emails I get every now and then. I usually do not answer them. I do not want to waste time with people who say that black is white and white is black. I would just like to make them watch the video “A world without America”. But in this case my dear friend S. has written the appropriate answer to one of the emails I got.

Ich habe mit viel Aufmerksamkeit und ständigem Kopfschütteln ihre Beiträge über Amerika gelesen und wollte nur eins sagen:
Mutig, kann man sie bezeichnen, da sie sich bewusst auf die naive und kindliche Art der Amerikaner stellen und diese dann auch noch verteidigen.
Jedes halbwegs intelligente europäische Kind weiß, dass das neue Amerika, krank, wissensisoliert, geblendet von falschen Mediendarstellungen und empathieunfähig geworden ist. Sie führen Angriffskriege (wie wir übrigens vor 70 jahren auch), aber wundersamerweise hat keine Demokratie (und peinlicherweise auch unsere) daraus Konsequenzen gezogen, die einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen. Und das ist mehr als traurig, nämlich tödlich für alle hunderttausenden Unschuldigen, die durch die Hände dieser Kriegstreiber gestorben sind, und das alles aus wirtschaftlichen Interessen. Und wer glaubt, dass Amerika dies ja machen musste, weil sie den armen Menschen helfen wollte, der glaubt auch noch an den Weihnachtsmann.
Ihr Brief an den Präsidenten ist die Spitze der Peinlichkeit. Ich schäme mich abgrundtief, dass so etwas von einem deutschen Staatsbürger geschrieben wurde.
Ich weiß nicht von was sie geblendet wurden, aber benutzen sie mal den Verstand, wägen sie mal die Verdienste und Fehlleistungen Amerikas gegeneinander auf, und sie werden zum Ergebnis von 0 kommen. Was heißt, dass dieses faschistoide Land all sein Bonus verspielt hat und nun auch mal kontra kriegen soll.
Putin ist mir tausendmal lieber als Bush und ich hoffe, dass die Menschen im Irak weiter ihren Widerstand gegen die Besatzungsmacht mit voller Härte weiterverfolgen, sodass Amerika eine erneute schmerzliche Niederlage wie damals in Vietnam kriegt.
Wachen Sie auf oder nehmen sie die rosarote Brille ab!

Point # 1: The war in Iraq would never have happened if France, Russia, and other countries had forced Iraq to live up to their cease fire agreements. Something the “tolerant” liberal lefties do not want to hear.
Point # 2: Putin needs to get over the Cold War and forget his position as a former KGB agent in the DDR. The west is not his enemy, the sooner he understands this, the sooner we can address the really pressing problems in the world.
Point # 3: Comparing Germany’s history to the U.S. is intellectually dishonest. Two separate countries with much in common but also many differences. I wonder if he knows that in WWII after the US was attacked by Japan it was Germany who declared war on the US not the other way around? I am sure we would have been more than happy to destroy the Japanese empire and leave Europe to find their own solutions.
Point # 4: The terrorists in Iraq and elsewhere will not defeat us unless we let them. They are the enemies of everyone in the world not just the US. Something the poster should realize is that terrorists do not think like us, they are murderers.
Point # 5: Comparing Vietnam to Iraq is just sloppy historical revisionism. It really doesn’t deserve a reply.
