I have just discovered a new blog I really like - and not only because of what the author writes about German women ;-)
No, of course not. Robin Hood im Schwarzwald is an American who after having spent a few days in Germany writes about what he has experienced. I was really upset when I read what happened to him at Frankfurt Airport: About
I hate this kind of Schadenfreude, the fact that it is a German word and no English translation available says it all. How can anybody possibly feel good about Americans being Islamists` first target? How can it be a consolation to anyone that we, Germans, are maybe only second, third or fourth on the Islamists` list?
I would also wish that a few more Germans would remember what Germany looked like 62 years ago and What a difference 62 years make. And who made the difference.
A lot of Germans seem to forget that it were the Americans who liberated Germany from the Nazis, that it were the Americans who helped rebuilding Germany after WW II.
I would say that a big THANK YOU! instead of Schadenfreude would be the appropriate reaction when meeting an American at the airport in Germany.
