A day of relief, a day of grief

The 15 British sailors have been released today. Many people, even in the West, see this as a victory of diplomacy. But this same day, 4 British soldiers and a civilian translator have been killed by a roadside bomb in Southern Iraq. And this same day, Khamail Khalaf, a correspondent in Iraq with RFE/RL’s Radio Free Iraq, has been found dead in Baghdad. Negotiations will not bring them back to life. And in the meanwhile Ahmadinejad is celebrating his propaganda coup. The Tehran Times titles: “Iran frees British troops”.
